Cosplay Guide
The mechanic who keeps the crew moving. Literally and otherwise.
Neenah is the vehicle specialist for the Saints in the 2022 Saints Row reboot, a game set in the sun-baked fictional city of Santo Ileso. She fixes cars, steals cars, and occasionally drives them through things that should not be driven through. Her look is grounded streetwear with a purple accent, held together by a signature pair of square black glasses that are genuinely her most recognizable feature. Recognition outside gaming conventions will be limited since the reboot had a mixed reception, but the costume is clean enough to wear even if no one places the character (Wikipedia).

The glasses and the wig are the two items people will clock first, and they need to be right before anything else matters. A leather jacket without the glasses reads as generic. The glasses without the right hair reads as incomplete. Get those two pieces settled and the rest of the costume follows naturally. Where this typically goes wrong is when the glasses are the wrong shape. Thin frames or round frames shift the read entirely and the character stops being recognizable.
Neenah is the person in the crew who already solved the problem before anyone else realized there was a problem. She does not explain her thinking until after she has acted on it. There is a version of that energy that is easy to carry at a convention: calm, slightly ahead of everyone else, mildly unimpressed by drama. She is not performing competence. She just has it.
Check the stripe placement on the leggings before you buy
Some leggings labeled as “side stripe” have the stripe running along the inner seam or wrapping around the calf rather than sitting cleanly on the outer leg. Look at the product photos before ordering, not just the title. A stripe in the wrong position changes the silhouette and pulls the lower half away from the character reference. This is easy to get right if you check, and annoying to fix the night before an event.
The driving gloves are a conversation prop
At a loud convention or party, having something in your hands makes it easier to hold a pose or stay in character when someone wants a photo. Driving gloves do this well because they look like they belong on the character, and you can take them off when you need to. They are not the most visually critical item in the build, but they earn their place in a practical sense.
Group Idea: The Santo Ileso Saints
Excellent group for a Saints Row fan event or gaming convention. These are the four founding members of the Saints in the reboot, and together they are immediately recognizable to anyone who played the game. At a general Halloween party, recognition drops off sharply because the 2022 reboot has a smaller audience than the classic entries in the series. If your group is made up of people who played it, this is the natural choice. If not, at least two of the four costumes will need explaining.
Group Idea: The Motorhead Syndicate
Strong group concept if everyone commits to the build. The connection is vehicles: a mechanic, a war rig commander, an ice cream truck driver, and a street racer. Furiosa and Sweet Tooth carry strong visual recognition on their own. Tony Toretto is niche outside Spy Racers fans. Neenah needs the glasses to read clearly. The group works best at a convention where people have time to take in each costume individually.
Group Idea: The Art Heist Syndicate
Might work, but the connection between Neenah and the other three is loose. Carmen Sandiego, Catwoman, and Lupin are thieves with a recognized aesthetic. Neenah is a mechanic and crew member who occasionally steals cars. The visual contrast across these four costumes is interesting, and Carmen Sandiego and Catwoman both carry high recognition. This group makes more sense at a general party than the Saints Row group, but someone will always ask why Neenah is in it.
This is one of the more approachable builds on the site. No armour, no props that need construction, no special effects makeup. The difficulty is entirely in sourcing the right glasses frame and keeping the jacket simple.
Neenah is competent and quiet about it. She does not explain herself in advance. She solves things and then moves on.
Start with a plain black leather jacket over a grey baseball quarter-tee, then add dark leggings with a side stripe, a black wavy wig, and square-framed black glasses. Driving gloves and low-profile walking shoes finish the build. The glasses and jacket together are what make the look read as Neenah rather than just streetwear.
Within Saints Row fan spaces and gaming conventions, yes. At a general Halloween party, recognition is limited to people who played the 2022 reboot, which received mixed reviews and has a smaller fanbase than the earlier entries in the series. The costume is clean and wearable even without recognition, but do not count on broad placement outside a gaming crowd.
Neenah does not have a single widely-quoted standout line in the way some game characters do. Her dialogue centers on her mechanical expertise, her loyalty to the crew, and her dry, practical approach to most situations. She is the character who solves problems quietly and then reminds everyone she already told them this would happen.
Neenah is one of the four founding members of the Saints in the 2022 Saints Row reboot, set in the fictional desert city of Santo Ileso. She is the crew’s vehicle specialist and mechanic, with a background in Los Panteros, one of the three criminal factions in the game. She is known for her glasses, her technical skills, and her calm under pressure.
At a gaming convention or Saints Row fan event, yes. At a general Halloween party, recognition will be limited because the 2022 reboot had a mixed reception and the broader Saints Row fanbase skews toward the older entries in the series. The costume reads as cool streetwear even without the context, which is not nothing.
Yes. The square black glasses are her most recognizable feature. Without them, the costume is a decent streetwear build that could be anyone. With them, it is Neenah.
