About Elvis Presley
Early Life;

Presley was born in a two-bedroom house with no running water or electricity in East Tupelo, Mississippi, during the Great Depression. Presley was actually a twin, but his twin brother was born dead 35 minutes before him. Presley's mother, Gladys, nearly died in childbirth and both were taken to the hospital. The Presley family lived in poverty in the early years of Presley's life.
They were dependent on welfare and received help from their neighbors. Vernon supported the family by taking various odd jobs. Although Presley lived in poverty, he benefited from a close-knit family. On May 25, 1938, Vernon was sentenced to three years in Mississippi State Penitentiary for check forgery. During the brief time that Vernon was in prison, Gladys and Presley were temporarily forced to live next door with Glady's in-laws. Vernon was released on February 6, 1939, for good behavior.
Presley got a guitar for his eleventh birthday. The shopkeeper said he wanted a gun. Some other variants of the story claim he wanted a bike when most likely it was the rifle. However, Gladys didn't want her son to have one and he eventually settled on the guitar. He often sang for his classes at school and they were pleased with him.
The Presley family moved to Memphis, Tennessee on November 6, 1948, where a thirteen-year-old Presley was influenced by the gospel music of an Assembly of God Pentecostal church. Elvis was also influenced by the music on the streets of Memphis. On September 21, 1949, the Presley family moved into an apartment building in Memphis. He was exposed to a lot of music and was in a band with four other boys. Vernon, Gladys, and the teenage Presley worked various jobs to support the family. However, the family remained close. After graduating from L.C. Hume's High School in Memphis in 1953, Presley worked for Crown Electric as a truck driver to pay for recording sessions at Sun Records.
Early Career;

Elvis' musical inspirations came from black rhythm and blues mixed with country gospel. This led to him being bullied at school and often being hit or teased. Elvis later said, "Students would often throw rotten fruit at me and drop me while calling me names like mama's son, loner kid, and squirrel boy, go back to your tree."
Elvis had no friends, he often spent his breaks combing his hair and playing the guitar, he was combing his hair in the boys' bathroom and a group of popular boys grabbed Elvis and tried to cut his hair, she was stolen by stopped by a student named Red West who stopped him.
He later became a member of the Memphis Mafia run by Elvis after he was successful. After that, Elvis continued to be bullied, but Elvis never gave up on his hopes of being an entertainer, often saying, "No one ever understood or liked me because I was different and everyone always said I would never find a girlfriend because."
