Halloween Costume Guide
The Bunnyx superhero suit from Miraculous Ladybug, built from a turquoise leotard, blue dot labels, white gloves, and rabbit ears with blue insides.
Bunnyx travels through time using portals she opens with her umbrella, which is also a weapon, shield, and communication device depending on the situation. The turquoise jumpsuit with white rabbit ears is the piece that makes this costume specific to the character rather than a generic rabbit superhero. Alix is a supporting character in a show that is still actively running, according to the Miraculous Ladybug Wiki, which keeps the fanbase active but means recognition outside that fanbase is limited.

The rabbit ears are what people process first, and the blue interior is the detail that separates Bunnyx from any generic rabbit hero. Plain white ears will get you mistaken for something from a completely different franchise all night. The leotard color needs to match the ears: both should read as the same family of blue. If the leotard shifts green under warm indoor lighting and the ears stay blue, the suit looks like two different costumes that ended up on the same person.
Alix is in the middle of explaining exactly why she is right about something when she opens a portal in time and steps through it mid-sentence, leaving whoever she was talking to standing there. She does not do dramatic exits. She just has somewhere else to be in a different century. That specific lack of ceremony is the character, and it is easy to play at a party without any lines at all.
The dot labels will lift on stretch fabric if you rush them
Self-adhesive labels applied to a leotard ten minutes before leaving the house will start peeling from the edges by the time you arrive. The fabric moves when you breathe and the adhesive needs more than a press-and-go to hold. Apply them the evening before, smooth each one flat, and leave them overnight. The ones on the thighs are especially prone to lifting because of how the fabric pulls when you walk.
Decide about the gloves before you get there
Opera gloves at an indoor party in late October get uncomfortable around the two-hour mark, and once they start coming off they tend to stay off. The problem is that half-off gloves sitting bunched at your wrists for the rest of the night look worse than no gloves at all. Make a decision before you arrive: full costume for photos at the start and gloves off after, or gloves on for the whole night. No in-between.
Couples Idea
Strong couple pairing within the Miraculous Ladybug fanbase, where Marinette is the most recognizable character in the show. If Marinette’s costume is well-built and clearly Ladybug or clearly Marinette, it anchors the pair. If it is vague, both read as two people from the same cartoon without context.
Duo Idea
Might work, but both are secondary characters without the name recognition that Marinette or Ladybug carries. The visual contrast between Bunnyx’s turquoise suit and Juleka’s dark goth look is sharp, but the pairing only pays off at events where Miraculous Ladybug fans are in the room.
Group Idea: Miraculous Ladybug Class
Strong group only if Marinette and Shadow Moth are well-executed, since those two carry most of the recognition. Alya has no dedicated guide page so that costume needs someone who knows the character and commits to the build. Half-committed, this reads as four people from the same show that not everyone at the party watches.
Group Idea: Iconic Animated Rebellious Teen Girls
Might work, but this concept asks the crowd to connect five characters from five different shows spanning three decades. Daria and Sam Manson are the broadest references in that group. Abby Park and Alix are niche enough that even animation fans may not place them immediately. Works at a convention or with a crowd that watched a lot of early-2000s cartoons. Anywhere else, plan to explain the theme.
This costume has fourteen items but three of them do the heavy lifting. The rest is detail work that you can cut depending on how much time and money you want to spend.
Alix is short, fast, extremely confident, and not particularly interested in other people’s opinions about her choices. She says what she thinks and then moves on. That is a very easy energy to play at a party without any lines.
You need a turquoise full-body leotard with blue circle dot labels applied to the torso and thighs, a white overbust corset for the chest panel, white opera gloves, white engineer boots, blue-inside rabbit ears, and a blue hero mask. The leotard with the dots and the rabbit ears are the two essential pieces. Without both, the costume does not read as Bunnyx. Add the Alix wig for the spiky red hair and carry the blue umbrella as her main tool.
It depends on your crowd. Miraculous Ladybug is still running and has an active fanbase, but Alix is a supporting character, not the lead, so recognition outside of fans is limited. At an anime or cartoon convention you will get it immediately; at a general Halloween party, plan to explain it.
The civilian version is a valid lower-effort build: black capris with pink stitching, a dark red tank vest over a gray long-sleeve shirt, black high-top sneakers with pink laces, and a black cap. The honest trade-off is that civilian Alix is even harder to place at a party than Bunnyx, because the superhero suit has a distinct silhouette that the school outfit does not.
Blue circle dot labels are self-adhesive and apply directly to the leotard. Apply them the night before, not right before leaving, so the adhesive has time to bond to the fabric. They peel off cleanly afterward. Iron-on fabric circles work if you want something more permanent.
Her power is called Burrow, which lets her open portals through time. She can also advance a few seconds forward to simulate teleportation. Her villain form, Timebreaker, had a different version of time travel that required draining life energy from other people to use it.
The blue umbrella is Bunnyx’s main tool and the most practical prop for a party. It is visible from across the room, which starts conversations before you have to say anything. Most costume props just hang off you all night; an umbrella you can actually open when someone asks who you are works harder than most.
She holds the record for the longest continuous transformation of any Miraculous holder: 5,000 years spent inside her time-travel dimension called the Burrow. She also knows the secret identities of every member of the team, because her time-travel abilities give her access to information no one else can reach. She is sworn to never reveal any of it.
