Some years she wears one costume. Other years she wears three in a single week, plus one for her daughter Kulture. The builds get more elaborate as the years go on, especially once she started working with custom designers instead of pulling something together last minute. Not every year is documented here. Some are just missing from the record.

Full yellow body paint, a blue wig teased into Marge’s beehive, and a green off-the-shoulder bodysuit. She posted a second version the same day, same paint and wig, swapped into a Mugler gown instead.
An Italian artist, aleXsandro Palombo, said the look copied his 2013 illustrations of Marge Simpson as a fashion icon and sent a legal notice asking for the post to be corrected (Vibe). Nothing came of it beyond the notice, but it’s part of why people still bring this one up.
Halloween 2021
A black dress and corset built entirely from metal chain, hand-dipped in resin and cured on a mannequin mold. Designer Natalia Fedner spent seven days on the piece, working with Cardi’s stylist Kollin Carter, with the corset alone needing 48 hours to dry.
This isn’t a Morticia Addams costume you put together the week of Halloween. It’s closer to a runway commission that happens to be Halloween-themed.
Halloween 2020
Three costumes that year. Cardi wore a gold-accented Medusa look with snake details by jewelry maker Laurel DeWitt and a serpent body by designer Baba Jagne, then followed it a few days later with a red Scarlet Witch costume timed to that year’s WandaVision buzz. Her daughter Kulture dressed as Wonder Woman to match Cardi’s Medusa look.
Three costumes and a matching kid’s outfit in one Halloween season is a lot of coordination. Most people would stop after one.
iHeartRadio Powerhouse, and Halloween night 2019
Two costumes that year. A white and red nurse outfit with cutout detailing, worn to perform with her husband Offset at an iHeartRadio event, then a Poison Ivy costume on Halloween night itself, green boots, gloves, and a long red wig. Kulture dressed as Moana separately.
The nurse costume works as a stage look. The Poison Ivy one is the actual trick-or-treat costume, and it’s the one that got copied the most.

A black and white fur coat, a dark waved wig, and a real Dalmatian on a leash for the full effect. She captioned the photo “It’s Bruella to you,” working her own name into the villain’s.
This Cruella de Vil costume is early enough in her career that it gets left off most roundups, even though the dog makes it one of her more literal costume choices.
