Monika is the poster girl of the Doki Doki Literature Club! and one of the five members and the president of the Literature Club. Monika is the driving force of the game and instructs the club members to practice writing poems through to the club festival, which itself makes the characters and story easier and evolves.

Monika has long coral hair and she keeps it tied back in a ponytail with a large white bow. She also has bangs and two long strands of hair next to her face. Your eyes are emerald green; Act 3 shows tiny dots in their supposedly colored pupils that already surround the iris.
She wears the typical school uniform, a warm gray blazer over a brown sweater vest and under a shirt with a white collar, which is crowned with a red ribbon. She also wears a dark blue skirt, black thigh-high socks, and white Uwabaki slippers with a pink top, which are in stark contrast to the rest of the white knee highs and slippers with the blue top. It is believed that she is the second tallest figure after Yuri or the protagonist.

Monika is described by the other characters as smart, confident and athletic. She's not as talkative as the other girls, but that means there is no choice. Monika is also known to be popular, which leads the protagonist to admire her. She always has a calm, gentle expression and is portrayed as mature and hardworking.
Monika had previously been part of the Debate Club, but emphasized the desire for order, freedom of themes and friendliness due to the general domestic politics and drama. The literary club she founded after leaving the Debate Club is very important to her. It strives to show and develop everyone's passion for literature.
