How to Style the Vox Halloween Costume

People read the head first. If the mask sits crooked or the hood bunches at your neck, you look like a guy in a blue suit with something on his face, and nobody asks about it. The suit only has to be neat. The mask has to be straight.

Vox once offered Alastor a partnership, and Alastor turned him down with a cruel joke. Vox never forgave it. If someone shows up dressed as Alastor, that is your moment to look offended.

Get the mask first

Order or reserve it before anything else. It comes in one size and Spirit’s site showed shipping as out of stock when I looked. Suits and boots are easy to replace. This mask is not.

Measure your foot in centimeters

The seller lists the heeled boots for feet 22 to 26.5 cm long. Wide feet should go up one size. Past 26.5 cm they make a flat-soled pair, so message them before you order.

Building the Look

The mask and the suit are the two things worth buying. The boots are the easiest part to fake.

Mask: buy it. If it sells out, a cardboard TV box with a painted screen is a messier but workable stand-in.
Suit set: buy this one too. A navy jacket with a red bow tie gets you part of the way, but you lose the stripes.
Boots: skip them if you own black ones.
Gloves and hat: they come in the suit set, so do not buy extras.

Playing Vox at the Party

Vox runs the media in Hell, so act like it. Smug works better than loud.

Hold your phone up and “film” people. It gives your hands something to do and explains the whole character.
