About Sword Costumes

A sword prop sells a costume fast, it explains the stance, the outfit, the whole character in one object. Odysseus's battle-worn blade, Kenshi's signature weapon, these costumes barely work without it.

Weight and balance matter more than sharpness or detail. A prop that's too light looks like a toy, one that's realistically weighted changes how you naturally hold and move with it.

Sword Costumes: FAQ

Are prop swords allowed at most events?

It depends on the venue, always check ahead. Some places ban prop weapons outright.

Do I need a screen-accurate sword?

Not for most guides, a general shape and size match usually reads fine from a normal viewing distance.

How do I carry a sword comfortably all night?

A proper sheath or belt attachment matters more than the sword itself, look for one that holds it securely without digging in.
