About Mask Costumes

A mask is the fastest way to disappear into a character, no makeup skill required. König's balaclava, Papyrus's skull shape, Velikan's full-face cover, in every case the mask carries the recognition on its own.

Comfort matters more than people expect. A mask you can't breathe or see well in gets pulled off within an hour, test it at home before the party, not for the first time in a crowd.

Some of these need a specific mask shape to read correctly, others just need any full-face cover in the right color. Check which kind you're dealing with before you buy.

Mask Costumes: FAQ

Some are specialty items, others are just a plain balaclava or half-mask you can grab anywhere. It depends on the character.

Test the mask at home first. Cheap full-face masks are often the worst offenders for visibility and airflow.

Rarely. Most of these costumes are built so the mask alone carries the look.
