Halloween Costume Guide
Mazikeen runs the bar at Lux, tracks down bounties for the LAPD, and ends most confrontations before anyone reaches for a phone. The black leather crop top anchors the whole build, and the auburn wig is what makes the face recognizable from across a room. Lesley-Ann Brandt plays Maze across all six seasons of the Fox and Netflix series, which ran from 2016 to 2021 (Wikipedia). Recognition at a general Halloween party is higher than most cancelled shows because Netflix keeps the audience there.

The leather crop top and the blades are the two things people read, in that order. If the top is baggy or the shade is slightly off, the whole silhouette shifts from demon bar enforcer to generic leather outfit, and none of the accessories bring it back. The blades need to be visible on your body throughout the night, not in a bag somewhere. Without both, the costume becomes a woman in dark leather with an auburn wig, which is coherent but not Mazikeen.
In Season 2, Maze shows up at Chloe’s apartment with her bags, announces she is moving in, and walks past without waiting for an answer. She is not being aggressive about it. She simply does not consider the decision to belong to anyone else. That is the character at the party: completely settled, not particularly interested in being challenged, and carrying her blades regardless.
Getting the auburn shade right when ordering
Look for terms like “dark auburn,” “warm chestnut,” or “brown with red undertones” on product pages. If the preview photo looks orange or fire-engine red, it will look worse under artificial party lighting. Check the written reviews for color accuracy before purchasing. A wig that photographs as auburn in a clean white background image can shift dramatically under warm indoor bulbs, which is the exact lighting condition at most Halloween parties.
Where to put the blades so they stay there
Prop blades without a carry solution become a problem by the second hour of a party. Holding them in your hand all night limits what you can do. Setting them down means losing them. A thigh strap holster or a costume belt with blade loops solves both problems before they happen. Test the carry solution at home before the party, ideally while sitting down, to confirm the blades stay in place when you are not standing upright.
Couples Idea
Excellent couple concept for anyone going to a party where Lucifer fans make up most of the room. The relationship runs through all six seasons and the visual contrast between a suited devil and a leather-clad demon does the character work without any explanation needed. The two aesthetics are distinct enough to read independently and connected enough that people who know the show will get it at a glance.
Duo Idea
Excellent duo with genuine narrative weight behind it. Maze and Eve end the series married after a relationship that develops across Seasons 4 through 6. The two characters are visually distinct enough to read separately and connected enough that anyone who watched the show will recognize the pairing immediately. People who have not seen Lucifer will see two very different women and probably ask about the connection, which is an easy conversation starter.
Group Idea: Lucifer Cast
Strong group for a Netflix or supernatural fan party. The Lucifer cast has enough visual variety to hold together as a group: a suited devil, a demon in dark leather, Eve’s softer styling, an angel, and a detective. Amenadiel and Dan have no dedicated pages on CostumeRealm, so those two costumes need people who know the characters well enough to build them independently. At a general Halloween party, Lucifer and Maze will carry the group’s recognition while the others require more explanation.
Group Idea: Supernatural Warrior Women
Might work, but the connection is thematic rather than narrative. These five characters share nothing except that they are all dangerous women with distinct visual signatures. Hela and Elektra have wide recognition from Marvel. Selene lands for Underworld fans. Villanelle’s fashion-forward look is specific enough that Killing Eve viewers will know her on sight. Mazikeen is the niche pick in the group, which means the other four carry the crowd recognition and Maze gives Lucifer fans something to react to.
Most of this build comes from the shopping list. The only decisions that require real thought are the blade carry solution and whether to attempt the half-demon face makeup. Everything else is sourcing.
Maze does not perform for a room. She moves through a space like the question of who belongs there has already been settled in her favor.
The black leather crop top and auburn long wavy wig are the two most important items. Add leather skinny pants, a body chain necklace, black ankle boots, and carry Mazikeen’s demon blades visibly on your person. The black angel wings are optional but add visual scale. Finish with red nail polish, a retro ring set, and a gold cuff bracelet.
Lucifer ended in 2021 but remains one of Netflix’s most-rewatched supernatural dramas, and Mazikeen is one of its most popular characters. Recognition at a general party in 2026 is higher than most cancelled shows because of Netflix’s ongoing reach. Expect to be recognized more often than not, especially among people in their 20s and 30s.
Her most quoted line is “No rest for the soulless,” said to Linda Martin. It captures exactly who she is in one sentence.
Mazikeen is played by Lesley-Ann Brandt, a South African actress. She appeared in all six seasons of the show, which ran from 2016 to 2021 across Fox and Netflix.
No. In most of the show Mazikeen appears in full human form, and the left-side demon face is used selectively for dramatic effect. The costume reads clearly without it. If you want the extra detail, half-face SFX prosthetics or scar makeup on the left side are available from costume makeup suppliers. It is a commitment for a long night at a party, not a requirement for the costume to work.
Mazikeen is a demon, not an angel, and does not have wings of her own. She cuts off Lucifer’s wings on his orders in the early episodes. The black angel wings in this build are a costume choice for visual drama rather than screen accuracy. They add scale and help the build read from a distance at larger events.
Maze starts the series as Lucifer’s enforcer and bartender at his nightclub, Lux. Over six seasons she becomes a bounty hunter, develops genuine friendships with humans, discovers she has grown a soul, and ends the series married to Eve. Lucifer describes her as the most skilled torturer Hell has ever known, which the show treats as the sincere compliment it is meant to be.
